Private Coaching Partnership

Personalized support for parents of emerging adults

Parenting an emerging adult who is struggling, stuck, resistant, or not yet fully launched can leave you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and emotionally exhausted. You may find yourself wondering what to say, what to stop doing, how much to help, when to set a boundary, and how to stay connected without over-functioning for your emerging adult.

The Private Coaching Partnership is  a personalized coaching experience for parents who want a clear plan of action, expert guidance, ongoing accountability, and steady support as they begin creating a more respectful and workable path forward.

We will begin with deeper foundational private sessions to understand what brought you here, clarify your goals, and identify the patterns keeping your family stuck. From there, we’ll move into a customized coaching rhythm based on your family’s needs, offering support as you put your plan into practice, adjust what isn’t working, and build confidence in your next right steps.

Together, we’ll focus on helping you:

  • Create a clear and realistic plan of action for your family
  • Understand what is yours to carry and what belongs to your emerging adult
  • Communicate with more calm, confidence, and intention
  • Set and hold healthier boundaries without abandoning them
  • Make thoughtful decisions around financial support, living arrangements, school, work, treatment, or next steps
  • Respond instead of react when emotions run high
  • Reduce fear-based parenting and increase steady follow-through
  • Stay connected without taking over
  • Build a more respectful and workable relationship with your emerging adult

This program includes private coaching with Kim, email support throughout the duration of the program, and membership in the Empowered Parents of Emerging Adults Group, Kim’s twice-weekly online support group for parents of emerging adults.

While no one can guarantee what an emerging adult will choose to do, this work will help you become clearer, calmer, and more confident in your own role. You will not be left guessing your way through hard decisions or trying to figure out the next step on your own.

If your emerging adult wants to participate in private sessions, they are welcome to join when appropriate. Kim will always begin by meeting with the parent or parents first so there is time to understand the situation, clarify goals, and determine the most helpful path forward.

Because this is a higher level of private support, interested parents typically begin by scheduling a consultation call. This gives us a chance to talk through your family’s situation, answer your questions, and make sure this offer is the right fit.

What People Are Saying:

If you would have told me a year ago that by investing in my parenting I could make the kind of changes I was able to make in the relationships with my sons (instead of always thinking it was something they were not doing....or doing wrong) I would not have believed you. Kim was the sounding board I needed to decipher what was MY work to do, and what I had to let my kids figure out for themselves. I really didn't think it was possible to have a better relationship with my two sons, we'd been fighting for months. I'm glad I took the time, put in the work, and made the investment in my parenting...even at this late date!

JF, Dad of 2 adult sons

I learned a lot about myself in the process of getting some much needed coaching from Kim. You can tell she listens to understand and she was able to get to the heart of what was really going on in our family. Not only that, she helped my husband and I start talking the same language to our three 20-somethings, I thought this was a lost cause. We'd tried both marriage counseling and family therapy in the past but coaching was different...and [thank God] in our case, more effective. While our relationships with our kids still aren't perfect (and I'm not sure that's possible anyway), we've learned how to talk so they will listen, and listen so they are willing to talk with us. Problem solving together has been greatly improved since we've had Kim's guidance. I recommend her services!

KM, mother of 3 emerging adults

When I think of the amount of money we spent trying to get our daughter the "right" or best help over the years, thinking we were doing all we could, it makes me sad. Now I realize that while she needed help, so did we! The unbiased, calm, trusted space Kim provides in her sessions have truly helped us to see the core issues with our daughter, and we have developed better communication skills with her, and we were finally able to set and adhere to the boundaries we'd needed all along. I just wish we'd have known about Kim's coaching sooner. I'd recommend your services to any parent who is at a loss on how to work with their emerging adult with mental health challenges.
